Volunteer Jobs - Events, Field Set-up, Tournaments, Fundraising, etc.
If you aren’t on the AMBA executive, or a coach, assistant coach, or a team manager, you will need to complete 4 AMBA volunteer hours. Here are some ways you can do that.
Fence Set-up/Yard Crew (sometime between March 30 and April 2)
8 volunteers needed to set up Bantam, Pee Wee and Mosquito fences, spring preparation of the baseball fields and general clean up. Time and date TBD.
Pancake Breakfast - Opening Day April 8th, 2017 - 6:30-10:30 am
1 Coordinator (purchases food, organizes volunteers)
4 Cooks (Cooks set up)
4 Servers (Servers clean up)
Family Fun Day - Batathon - June 17th, 2017
4 Coordinators (Batathon, Games, Food, Volunteers)
These 4 Coordinators basically design and run the Family Fun Day on June 17th. If you love to plan parties and events, then this is definitely the role for you. The 4 Coordinators roles must be filled by April 15 in order for the Family Fun day to run in 2017. A proposed schedule and budget must be established by the end of April.
Here are some other roles that will need to be filled on our fun day:
8 Batathon Volunteers

8 Set up Crew
8 Clean Up Crew
Tournament Scorekeeping and Pitch Count
AMBA will be hosting at least 1 tournament: Scorekeeping and Pitch Counting for any AMBA hosted tournaments will count towards your association volunteer hours. Please note that pitch counting and scorekeeping in regular season league games DO NOT count towards AMBA volunteer hours, as these are considered team volunteer jobs, not assocation volunteer hours
Mosquito Selects Tournament: Date: May 25th-28th
Tournament Field Prep
4-8 volunteers per tournament will be needed to line and rake fields.
6 people: You will work with our Fundraising Coordinator to implement a fundraising program. Deadline for application is April 30th, 2017
Picture Day Coordinator
1 person needed to coordinate our AMBA Picture day. Your role is to develop a schedule so teams are there on time. Date April 23rd 12:30-3 pm.
Coaches/Volunteer Appreciation Night
Needed are 4 volunteers to plan and run our volunteer appreciation night. The event will be held on Saturday, June 10th. A simple meal (burgers, salads, dessert) is appreciated. You will also be required to send out invites and oversee RSVP’s.
Christmas Parade Volunteers
4-8 people will be asked to create a AMBA float in the Aldergrove Christmas parade. Please note that if you choose to volunteer for this role, it will count towards your 2018 volunteer hours as the cut off to have your 2017 hours complete is June 17. AMBA has a variety of Christmas decorations that have been used in years past.
Field Take Down
12 volunteers need to take down the fences at the end of the baseball season. Please note that these hours will count towards your 2018 volunteer hours as the cut off for your 2017 hours is June 17, 2017.
6 volunteers needed to perform ongoing field maintenance throughout the season. You’ll work with our Directors at Large to establish a times and dates. Jobs include mowing, weed wacking, etc.
Your next step is to complete the Volunteer Form. Here you will be asked 2 areas where you would like to complete your volunteer hours. Your information will then be sent to the appropriate event coordinators. The event coordinators will then contact you with available times and further information.
If you choose opt out of volunteering with AMBA for the season, simply select that option when registering online (or in person) and your volunteer deposit will be cashed accordingly.
